When should you consider firing your Real Estate Agent?  Those questions are harder to answer.  But I can tell you when you should not Fire your Real Estate agent:  (when you should fire is below)

  • Don't fire your Real Estate agent when your offer gets rejected.
  • Don't fire your Realtor when you are told something factual and you are viewing it as emotional.
  • Don't fire your Real estate agent when you are calling other agents and they are promising you the world.
  • Don't fire your Real estate agent because a Realtor at an open house told you the only way you could buy it was if you used them.
  • Don't fire your Real Estate Agent if you are told by another agent they are HORRIBLE!!!

What about the "When to Fire a Real Estate Agent?"

  • Fire your Realtor is they are pushing you to do something you don't want to do.
  • Fire your Real Estate agent if they don't let you "think about" it.
  • Retire your Real Estate agent if they are not communicating with you in a timely manner. (don't jump the gun on this one, they might not have heard any update either - however, you should not be wondering for too long :-) )
  • If you find that your Real Estate agent has been dishonest with you - Fire Them!
  • Fire your Real Estate agent if they are forcing you to sign documents without explanation or without validity.
This would not be complete without a section on "How to Fire a Real Estate Agent".
  • Call them or show up at their office in person and tell them why you are about to fire them.
  • Give them a chance to respond to your complaint that you have stated is worth firing them over.
  • If they start sounding like they are B.S.ing you are they are stumbling or stammering and you still see no remedy: Say, "I discharge you, (insert agent's first and last name), of our current Transactional Relationship to commence immediately...".
  • They back up slowly :-) until they are out of sight (it is a tough business, unfortunately)
Do more research on other local area experts.  Check what they are writing and make sure the words you are reading are theirs and not some company they hired. You need a working Real Estate agent.  Someone that has moxie and a Pleasant No-Pressure Attitude.  We have put together a Paris911 Research Inquiry for your approval!
