When it comes to renting or leasing a property in the Santa Clarita Valley there are several things you are going to want to watch out for. Who is the representative of the Seller. Are they authorized or just someone attempting to con you out of your hard earned money?
When you are considering renting or leasing, it might be best for you to get your very own representative to approach the property management company or management real estate agent with your lease agreement and offer for rent.
However, that will depend if that will be allowed on the Rental you are interested in. When searching for Rentals and Leases, there are two main players in the SCV Leasing game. You have companies that only do Property management and do not represent buyers or sellers with their real estate listings or with purchase. Then you have real estate agents that do Re-Sale, Buyer representation, and List Sellers properties for sale. Which will be the best and less dangerous to work with?
I suppose it depends on where the interest lies... The property management company only wants to get a tenant/renter for their Property Owner. That is it. Nothing else. They don't want to list the home of the property owner, they don't want to sell the tenant a home. They only want to make the introduction between the property owner and tenant. The ultimate outcome being renting or leasing the owners property to a well qualified tenant(s).
What about those property managers that also function in the "real estate resale" and "seller representation" fields?
